AIA|DC Chapter Design Awards Celebration & Exhibition Opening

WASHINGTON, DC -- (Marketwired) -- Dec 09, 2013 -- Have you seen the small, yet grand 210 sq. ft. free-standing home, the new and renovated DC libraries that are transforming their neighborhoods, or the healing space for rehabilitating US soldiers returning from war? These are just some of 37 fascinating architectural projects you might happen upon when traveling through Washington, DC, and beyond.

Now you can experience them all in one place at the "AIA|DC Chapter Design Awards Celebration & Exhibition Opening" on Monday, December 16th, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, at the District Architecture Center. Selected by a distinguished group of architects, designers, and preservationists, come raise a glass to this year's winners and join AIA|DC in recognizing design excellence.

"PRIZED: The 2013 AIA|DC Chapter Design Awards Exhibition" showcases 37 projects selected for their outstanding and unique architectural merit in four categories -- architecture, interior architecture, historic resources, and presidential citations in sustainable, universal, and urban design. They represent a superlative cross-section of design both in DC and by Washington firms.

AIA|DC President David Haresign, FAIA, will lead the awards presentation over hors d'oeuvres and refreshments.
